This months devotion by Al Long: Abraham Lincoln once said, "I have been driven many times upon my knees by the overwhelming conviction that I had no where else to go. My own wisdom and that of all about me seem insufficient for that day." Have you ever been faced with a problem that you knew you could not handle with your own wisdom, knowledge and ability? Many people face these problems everyday. As we look back in history, we find that even the leaders of our great country also faced these problems. Reading what Abraham Lincoln said we know that he too knew he needed to depend on God, so he knelt on his knees to pray. When we compare our wisdom, knowledge and ability to God, we find we should depend on Him for everything, even our day to day decisions. Paul wrote in Ephesians 3:14., "For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ." He was saying that he was praying for the Ephesians to be strong and that God would grant them the riches of His glory, and that they be strengthened with might by the spirit in the inner man. Even when Paul was in prison for preaching the gospel of truth, he was concerned that the Ephesians would lose faith because of what he was going through. So, you see, we should not only pray on our knees for ourselves, but also for each other. "Two By Faith" depends on your prayers so that we would be strengthened and be able to continue the great work that God has given us to do. Thank you all for your prayers and please continue to pray.
